Math Beginner's Kit A (AK3/K4)

Off to a great start with Christ-Centered Math!

Recommended For:

  • Older 3's (AK3)
  • Young 4's (K4)

The Math Beginner's Kit A is great for teaching young 4's and older 3's a couple of days per week.

Notice to Math Edition 1 Users: If you own the original Math Lessons Guide A and Math Lessons Guide B, the Home School workbooks (Levels A, B:1, B:2, and C) are not compatible. To purchase the original Math Workbook A, order Part 401. For Level B, order Part 403.

For older K4's, K5's, or Beginning 1st math students, order Math Kit B (Part 005HS) which includes Level A items plus Levels B:1 and B:2.

NOTE: Every beginning math student should complete Level A before Level B:1.

Christ-Centered Math Is Uniquely Scriptural!

Christ-Centered Math derives its teaching content from mathematical truths rooted in Scripture. For example, the first thing God did in Creation week was to add something to the nothing that existed---the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). Because addition is the basis of all other mathematical operations, the Level A lessons begin by introducing addition concepts 1-10. Since our Creator also counted when He numbered the days of the week, as Math Workbook A students learn number concepts 1-10 ("how many," number identification, and number recall), they will count pictures of some things God made during Creation week.

Christ-Centered Math Builds Godly Character!

Math lessons A, B, and C include CHARACTER TRAINING TIPS related to the animal families of the Christ-Centered Math Flashcards 1-10 Set which is included in the Math Master Guide (Part 500). In addition, through interesting stories plus Scripture songs and hymns on the Animal Stories CD (Part 501), children are encouraged to ask Jesus to develop the following godly traits in them as well:

  • ONE Penguin–Generosity
  • TWO Deer–Flexibility
  • THREE Bear–Loyalty
  • FOUR Beaver–Orderliness
  • FIVE Skunk–Courage
  • SIX Badger–Decisiveness
  • SEVEN Chickadee–Joyfulness
  • EIGHT Crow–Responsibility
  • NINE Squirrel–Endurance
  • TEN Moth–Determination

Note: The story illustrations and character quality definitions were adapted from Character Sketches Vol. I and II (used by permission from the Institute in Basic Life Principles).

  • Godly Character Qualities 1-10
